An enormous thank you to everyone for making the tour so successful. I know the students have many stories, journal entries and photos to share.
The tour was extremely busy and we visited many, many sites. The intention was to pack in the experiences so that they could be slowly realised and considered over the years to come. I am sure that all appreciated the opportunity to see so much.
The conduct and attitude of the tour group was impressive and we managed to pull through the tiring times together. I am particularly impressed by those students who have made it to school today.
Thanks again
Mr Lobsey

The Western Front
Bonjour everyone !
I know we have not written for some days ( weeks ? ) but really, we have been so wonderfully busy on the road. The sightseeing and experiencing of the local history and culture has been dominant, tiring and inspiring.
There are thousands upon thousands of photgraphs of this tour ( as you can imagine ! ) and we hastily chosen a few to send home. The first is with Florence Lamousse in the forests of Verdun. We are looking at a shellhole. The second is back in Berlin. A moment withe Marx and Engels. The third is the Berlin Wall. We have countless other images to share when we get home.
Today we have been visited the cemeteries and museums of Ieper ( Ypres ) in Flanders Fields ( Belgium ). Amongst our busiest and most engaging days. Messines Ridge has special resonance for us all. Last night we were proudly involved in the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate. Richard Arnott and Kathryn Tucker laid a wreath on behalf of McAuley, the Grafton sub-Branch RSL and our community. A truly special occasion.
Tomorrow we head south to Fromelles and then Amiens for a tour of the city. We are already anticipating and preparing for the Dawn Service at Villers-Bretoneaux on Anzac Day.
We are all travelling well and the staff are proud of the group.
Best regards
Messrs Lobsey and Bellamy

Berlin to Weimar
Good morning all,
We have had another exciting, busy day in Berlin. Perhaps Berlin has been too good as most people don´t want to leave today ! We will go to Weimar tonight after a relative restful day. Hopefully the students are keeping their own diaries as a record of all that we have done.
Thanks

Frankfurt and Berlin
Happy Easter to all !!!!!!
Today began with an early start. We caught the train into the middle of Frankfurt and took a quick walk into the city to Paul's Church were the Frankfurt assembly was held. We then caught the train to Berlin, checked into the hostel and took a long walk to the Berlin Wall, had a photo with Karl Marx and explored the city.
We are all very tired but that is not stopping us. We are all powering on and loving the amazing experience.
